Re: What Is Going On ???
Sadly, Chrysler today is not the same company that envisioned the Xfire. Higher prices for these parts come from "bean counters" who aren't worried about p*ssing off the 69,000 Xfire owners.
That is 69,000 people each of whom can potentially scare off a lot of possible new Chrysler customers or endorse the "New Chrysler LLC"
Seems stupid but the bean counters aren't in sales.
I work with big companies all the time and it is amazing how disconnected the goals of various departments can be.
I suggest letting them know how you feel. Complaining to the Service manager won't go far. He hears bad crap all day. No, I'd hit them where it matters. Let the dealer management or the owner know.
My Chrysler dealer has had my business for more than 15 years. When I had a bad brake job on my 14 year old truck, I let the sales dept know
I wouldn't be purchasing another car untill they got their act back together.
I bought my Xfire elsewhere and when I go in for service on any of my vehicles ( I have 7 Chrysler products on the street) I'm recognized. They greet me by name. At all their locations. And I get service.
I'll let you know how it goes on my Xfire. So far I haven't let them at it.
Point is that Sales drives any company. Chrysler can't survive, much less grow, on marking up parts. They'll take a hit verses losing a shot at new car sales. It doesn't matter where they build them, they have to sell them.
Most Xfire buyers were Chrysler fans or they at least comfortable with the company's reputation. Chrysler won't want to soil that. Let them know that they have. Get it upstairs to the Home office.
You will be doing yourself and the rest of us a favor.

"You can do all the advertising you want, it only takes one dissaisfied customer to send 250 potential sales to your competitor"
Multiply that concept by 69,000
