Also do CAI put more wear and tear on the engine itself... I use the car as my daily driver and can't afford to sacrifice reliability for just a few added horses and a more aggressive rev. Sounds like you already know your answer. Drop some $$ for a set of K&N filters and open up the intake tubes at the radiator support and drive a car that can be serviced anywhere...
I wouldn't mod up a daily driver unless I was willing to pay for the repair bill that will surely be comming. But it sounds like you've already experienced that...
