I have an '04 Coupe with 26,000 miles. When I brought it in for inspection last week we noticed that the tires were almost worn out. No big deal except that this was the second set of rear tires on this car.

The first were standard issue Continentals, the second Goodyear F1 GS D3. Ok I mixed them -- but what a difference in handling with the Goodyears on the rear. Mileage also improved.

The problem is that the second set only lasted 9,000 miles.!!
Is this all the miles we should expect?

Has anyone else had the problem of excessive rear tire wear?

I am not a particularly agressive driver, and these miles were mixed.

I don't see any other posts with this problem -- I'm hoping that it's not just me.

Any comments, suggestions, or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
