As for my Chevelle, there comes a time in one's life (don't worry, you'll grow older too) when the ultimate enjoyment of automobiles isn't just faster is better. I swapped the 4:11 gears that helped get that 4300lb car into the low 11s for nice, comfortable cruising 3:08s. I enjoy the better gas milage, lower freeway RPMs, and easier shifts now. So, the SRT is now the fastest car I own. It still remains the fastest STOCK car I've ever owned if I mis-spoke earlier. If I ever feel the need for speed, motor cycles can accomodate me as I've been riding those since the age of 5. I don't care how much money or time you put into a car, nothing can compete with the accleration and speed modern motorcycles can achieve for a fraction of the cost. My 2002 R6 ran 11s all day with nothing but an exhaust and a carb jet kit, my 2005 GSXR 1000 ran 10s without trying (and scaring yourself to death). Heck, even my Buell XB12s with a big old HD lump ran 11.40s.
As much as I would love to get a bike, it would be a death sentence around here. Horrible roads with horrible drivers is all I see on a daily basis. I hit a pothole so deep the other day (that I didnt see because it was under a relatively dark bridge) the sound made me cringe, I was almost positive my wheel was bent. If I was on a bike.. .well I wouldnt have been on the bike anymore. Maybe If I move out of state, where the roads are smooth and the drivers are cautious I'll get a nice gixxer, until then I want to be surrouned by a steel shell. Definately nothing wrong with outperforming the most exotic cars for $10k.
