There are several threads on here regarding folks that have done the double DIN modification to the center console. I don't have links, but I can describe both of the mods I would try and one I think that was only photoshopped.
1. Move the window switches section to the center console and french it in just behind the mirror adjustment switch sideways replacing the cupholder area. Then you have room for a double DIN unit.
2. Loose your center vents and move everything up to make room for the double DIN.
3. Only photoshopped so far (I think). Remove the ash tray, cigar lighter. Relocate the passenger side airbag off warning light somewhere else and use that section to gain the space for a double DIN.
Other than that, there is always the option of building it in just above the center console between the seats, but there may not be enough space. And I don't think you could 'french' it in very far as that wall behind the seats is structural and behind that is your fuel tank. Not only that, but it would be not usable for a NAV system. I would only do that if it was a regular head unit with a nice big graphic display to 'bounce with the sound'
Good luck!
