Default Re: Alarm / Lock issue just got worse

Well let me describe the issue first before I mention why it's so bad. When I drive the car, the drivers side lock does not auto lock, when I use the remote on the key to lock and unlock the door the only thing that happens is the lights blink, the doors however remain in whatever state they are in. If I set my alarm it will go off no matter what a little while after leaving the car, but it doesn't really matter since the alarm sounds like its submerged in water and shorting out. Basically unless I physically lock and unlock the drivers door using the actual key, the drivers side lock is always up, the passenger lock is always down, and the trunk is always locked. I was going to just call the dealership today and make an appointment for some time this week and just deal with it, but today driving home from work I realized I needed gas and then I realized there is no way for me to open the gas compartment. I have had a little luck with disconnecting the battery, I sometimes get a minute of the locks working correctly so I might be able to get it open. Either way, the battery is disconnected now and I am going to bed, but any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do another search for alarm problems. It sounds as if the alarm module is dead and/or the vacuum pump which drives the locks is dead.

Good Luck.
