It is more like a black dye for vinyl and rubber. I got it for my Jeeps and it works wonders on the exterior vinyl trim. It is a PITA if you get it on your paint. It lasts for at least a year on the Jeeps. I will see how long it lasts on tires.

Yep, that stuff is like a liquid shoe polish. I used it on the faded tape on the tonneau cover for the convertible top. It hardly made a difference. Maybe I'll use up the left over on the tires.
