Default Re: Stereo guru needed.

If there's one thing I've learned about my Crossfire, (from several different technicians at multiple Chrysler dealerships), it's that the electrical system in these cars are extremely complex. If you're thinking about buying ANY aftermarket components (that will connect into the electrical/wiring system of the car), make sure to check with a certified service tech before making the purchase... just to make sure that they are confident about their ability to install it. I've already talked to a couple "certified" techs (at the dealership) that won't even touch ANYTHING electrical that is an aftermarket add-on... including stereo systems.

There are probably a lot of forum members who feel so confident in their own ability, that they would never think of taking it to the dealership. My advice: if it's electrical... take it to someone who is certified. And just because they're certified doesn't mean they're going to want to touch it. Find someone who will... who KNOWS the electrical "quirks" of this car.

Personally, I'm considering replacing the stock Infinity system with a Pioneer AVIC-N4. It is the MAC-daddy if you ask me... CD/DVD/FM/AM/NAV system, all-in-one... with a nice size full-color screen. It will fit perfectly into the existing space. Here's the link: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...ione er&tp=144

But, whatever you decide to go with, make sure you've got someone knowledgable and willing to install it, (emphasis on the "knowledgable"), before you make the purchase.
