Default Modifying the stereo with independence swith.

Since the end of school is near, my school had its annual "Spree-esta" today. All it basically is is a field day that happens to include a car show. Although I didn't get to take a close look, several of the trucks had sound systems that "boomed" and vibrated the windows on the school.

After being in the excitement of it all, I began to think that it might be kind of cool to have a system like that for events such as Spree-esta or Slammin' 'n Jammin' (another car event in town).

I sort of had a design concept in mind to place a maybe 10" or 12" woofer in between the two seats and above the console in the wall (Viper style). Good idea? Bad idea? What's behind there? I also wouldn't be opposed to having one put in with the forum's famous "custom sub box" that fits into the left side of the trunk.

A few questions:

Would either position cause rattling of car components such as the rear hatch or hatch glass? Also, will just one woofer give you the bump that you hear from other modified car stereos?

I wouldn't want the woofer to stay on constantly because it can sometimes get annoying, so is there any type of "kill" or "Independence" switch that could be installed (possibly on the SRT's dead switch) that could be flipped and have the additional amp and woofer kick in?

Any suggestions or comments mean a lot. While I have planned a home theater system, I have never tackled a car setup, so I'm an ameteur. Thanks for any help!
