If that kid could get 100MPG+ out of a 1970 351CID Ford, why can't we get 300 HP+ and 50MPG from a 3.2L (192CID) engine?

right next to the bottle of pills that turn water into a fuel compatable with N/A piston engines.

Right now, there is a huge demand for a fuel efficient power source. Not huge...HUGE! No conspiricy by the auto companies or by the oil companies could or would hold it back. There is simply too much demand for the product. And plenty of residual demand for oil, which we all know will eventually be either depleted or economically unsound to produce.

The first Telegraph beat out the pony express letter carrier
The first telephone out of the box beat the previous technology.
The first diesel engine beat out Steam
The first gasoline engine beat out diesel.
The first workable PC beat out the mainframe

YET
All of those technologies that were beaten still exist in marketable forms today.

If somebody has the magic decoder ring on a new fuel source or a new fuel economizing technology, someone will bring it to an eager market.
