Does this unit make a vast difference because without a windbreak anything over 30 MPH is a problem.

I'm 6'-1" so I didn't want any seat loss. That's not a problem with this one. There is no seat loss at all. See how it fits over the wall behind the seats?

It helps tremendously with the wind. Of course nothing is going to help on a windy day with a cross wind.
