I get your drift. It was MUCH worse 6 months ago, you should have SEEN the daily posts in here about crappy service from dealers all over the world. Either the car is getting better now that Karmann has worked out the first year production issues, or the dealers are finally getting up to speed on this car (or combo of both), cuz the reported problems are much less frequent these days.
I wish all the problems would go away, cuz I've heard horror stories about both of the Chrysler dealerships that are close to me. I'm hesitant to even take it in for an oil change! Others have gone to M/B dealerships for oil changes, and though expensive had all reported satisfactory results. It is, after all, an SLK320 underneath, so any Benz dealer would have the parts and tools to properly perform maintenance services, just not the D/C authorization to perform WARRANTY service if any was required at the same time. Which is too bad...
