I agree that if you use an outside shop for the Magnaflow muffler installation, it may try their patience ( Read MORE expensive) to cut and fabricate the OEM tips to fit back on the car. I likewise agree that maybe round tips may not be esthetically pleasing considering the shape of the body opening.

But again knowing what I know now, I think I would go with some Magnaflow straight tips, either round or square. It would cut several hours off the job due to the dissimilar sizes and curvature of the pipes going to the tips. The hardest part of this job was cutting, fitting, and proper alignment of the OEM tips.

Like you, I finally decided that I wasn't going to spend the best part of a grand on a Borla exhaust. This was something I could do myself. The sound of the little car now, made all the effort worthwhile.

To answer a previous request for photos looking inside the exhaust toward the cats, it was not possible to get any pics due to the pipes being curved. This car has its primary cats forward close to the outlet of the headers and secondary ones toward to middle of the car. Sorry I couldn't be of any help in this area.
