As most of you know I have a Superchargerd LT1 Corvette. It is about 480 horse on a bad day on cool days I'm hitting close to 522 however this is using a Vortech V1 S trim
Where the real issue comes in is the amount of boost... my Vette and the crossfire are pretty close in terms of compression ratio. Ideally you would want *** to be in the neighborhood of 9:1
I have a stock short block ( vette) and I run up to 8 pounds of boost, in doing that I had to go to larger injectors and had to back the timing back a bit.
I would highly suggest the use of an intercooler as well this helps in terms of horsepower and timing. You can go with the screw or fixed CFM supercharger ( I've actually looked into this as well ) I would say that 8 poundss would be the very max , I'm not sure what they rate the IHI's at I'm thinking probably around 4-6 pounds?
I would be more than happy to steer anyone through this if they so desire, I have had my car supercharged for over 3 years now.
As you all know the sky is the limit as to how much you want to dump into the car.. forged pistions... crank, rods etc.
But keeping it simple you could net you with about 300 horse witha boost of 6 pounds. Keep in mind someone from upsolute or superchips or who ever would have to burn you a new chip to compensate for the timing... the fuel can be modulated off a 2 BAR MAP sensor...
Hope this helps... feel free to contact me or email me if you decide to go further...
