WHY did the plugs foul? and couldn' that be a warranty item?
Was the oem plugs platinum? if yes, isn't platinum plugs good for 100,000 miles. And most normal 1st gen Xfire owners wouldn't have to pay for that maintenance item (since they will sell the car in 3-4 years).
I race the car and run very high octane (100) fuel in the car at the track. After a recent run I was feeling the car missing at idle. I took it to the dealer to have them put it on their Star Tech computer to see what was up... The car looked perfect on the diagnostic computer but was still "Missing" at idle. I figured I had a fouled plug and sure enough I pulled the plugs when I got home and noticed that one was extremely carbon'd-up.
I guess I could have had the dealer replace the plugs but since I have mod'd the car so much and wanted top-of-the-line plugs, I figured I would do it myself. The standard plugs are Bosch OEM but not dual tip (split tip) platinum.
So $96.00 and an hour of work, no more "missing" at idle and now I know we have 12 plugs...
