When I was a Fireman in Bolingbrook, IL we had a guy who's wife did stuff like that to him all the time. She thought it was funny.
We all chided him about taking the cr*p without complaint or retaliation.

One night we got a call to his house to find him crouched in a fetal position on the floor in tears. She was on the bed with had her head caved in via a cast iron skillet.

It wasn't funny anymore.
