I'm looking at a scooter, and parking the Crossfire for the summer.

My son-in-law bought a Yamaha R6, which will smoke a Crossfire in any category, yet gets 56 MPG.
Back to economics 101. You cannot conserve your way to prosperity and a better living standard. Every year there are more people needing more stuff so there must be an inexpensive source of energy to fuel any economy. The idea that a curly lightbulb is going to save the world is simple minded. We have no choice right now, there is no alternative to cheap oil. We must find more sources domestically, be it oil, coal to oil, tar sands in Montana or wherever it is available. Then, we will have an economy that can invest in new technology and new infrastructure and people will have the money to buy these new technology cars for the furutre. This will take several generations to changeover. The idea that we can just use less and make it into the 22nd century without living in mud huts is really dumb...with all due respect.
