I just sold that car off to the junk yard for $50 with the motor/tranny.............the body was still in original(never been wrecked) condition. It was a very sad day as I wanted to sell it to someone that would turn it into a race car.............but instead it was crushed.
I stand corrected..
I was unaware of the 350s in Ca were factory. That explains why it was so easy to swap for a real 350.

My 3.1 V6 was 115 HP but was so much lighter with the aluminum block. The weight distribution was the same as Porshe 924 52% front 48% back.
By the time I had stiffened the body and added anti sway and traction bars, the weight distribution was just the opposite. Car handled like it was on rails. With a 4 barrel the HP had to be higher but I never dyno'd it. I was just trying to go faster on the top end as the two barrel choked out around 80 mph. My brother ended up with the 4 barrel on his 79 Monza as I went back to the two. Saved me a lot of money.
Not in gas, in speeding tickets.
