ok. got my new rims. nice. sweet.

put them on. nice. sweet. sexy.

decided to go for drive. started to reverse out. slight crackng sound. only slight. from the rears. went forward. turned into a dull cracking. and not random. like i am hitting something. anyway. reverse a couple of metres. same things. pull back into garage.

take wheel off.

puzzled.

look at the amount of thread coming out of the back of the stock rim with the stock wheel nut around 16-17.

look at the amount of thread coming out the back of the new wheel with new wheel nut. 22-23 mm.

is this the problem? shorter nuts required? is something going on inside that hub?
