Having a black SRT6 I did a black synthetic CF overlay on mine well over a year ago for the same reason as you plus the leading edge of the door pull and the speaker/door handle surround.... It also has two clear coats and no noticeable scratches (wouldn't the standard painted silver finish be at least just as prone to scratch?)
