Default Saw a new Challenger

Stopped by the local dealer today as they just took delivery of a Challenger SRT - in black. My person favorite on this car.

Popped the hood, looked in side, and popped the trunk... I just dont know. Something is wrong.
I really like the look of the car and have always wanted a Chally but... I am waiting this one out.
  1. Same air intake as my Mag SRT before i put on the CAI. No ram air like the concept.
  2. Interior is a big let down compared to the concept...where's the cool engine block gauges?
  3. The cool taillight...also did not make production. Just a simple red lens across the whole back.
  4. The trunk is far too short to carry anything...not that anything would go in there if it was mine, but Dodge is going to make the SXT and R/T that will get more day to day use.
  5. Nose, Lights, and grill look great.
  6. Will be better with the 6 spd and the new rear end in '09
  7. But the real kicker... (and why I will never buy from my old dealer) the new local dealer has the good old "market adjustment" sticker in the window. Car was about 42K + 13KMA so for $55K you can pick up a car that will be selling at employee pricing next year. Looks like I am sticking with the dealer in NC. for my Dodge/Chry purchases.
Regarding point 7. When I wanted the Magnum SRT back when they first came out all the local dealers (within a few 100 miles were commanding over sticker) best I found was 6K over, most were +$10K or more. My local dealer had the nerve to tell me he would order one for me with a $1,000 deposit and when it came in that my deposit would give me the first chance to bid on it...WHAT? Walked out and ordered it from NC for less than sticker. Took delivery in 5 weeks..was the best experience ordering a car...except the 800 or 900 miles to get there.
Beg me to buy cars but when one comes along that I want...try to bend me over on price??? I am done. See ya. There are good dealers you just have to find them. (off soap box, sorry for the rant - I had high hopes for the new owners of the local dealership - apparently it is going to be business as usual).
