The NAV radio memorizes a section, or area, at a time so it can still navigate without the nav CD in place for a while. And when you might need the nav CD, you'll only need it in for a few seconds, then you can go back you your music CD. And you can play music while it navigates.

Also, you can add an external CD changer to your system and keep the nav CD in place.
