Another reason is that some owners get tired of cleaning in the little nooks and crannies of the letters, and picking the lint off the sharp edges of the letters everytime you wash the car.

I'm not ready to take mine off yet, but I wouldn't bother putting them back on either. The letters are a pain in the butt.
