The effect of the SB is simply to provide us with a "quick action throttle" Any motorcyclists out there will know about this, full throttle is achieved with reduced twistgrip, (or in this case car throttle pedal) movement. Overall I like the feel of the SB, but note that the delay is still disappointingly present due the fly by wire design. It helps to re set the trottle now and again.
Only way to cure this is to rip it all out and start again, with a nice big four barrell Holly carb up on top!
