If the car will idle, get a three or four foot of hose, garden hose is good and place one end on your ear, using the other end as a probe to check the running motor for leaks. I replaced my intake manifold gaskets (phenolic) and had a lousy idle after that due to a wee beastie

Thanks, Woody. I will try that next time I have the car. Even if the CEL is resolved, the sound has to go away. It's becoming so loud, it's embarrassing. -Alex
