I took the drive up to Carlisle today for the show and I am overloaded. There was soooooo many sexy cars there it wasn't even funny. I got there around 3 (picked the girlfriend up on the way...first mistake lol +2 hours) But when I got there we proceeded to check out the 1967 dealership setup right away. I just drooooled my way around there for a good hour, hour and a half. After that we decided to try to grab a beer, but I didn't realize that would be the longest journey for a drink I have ever had. Long story short and 15+ miles later I ended up with a Giant Box of Yuengling and another hour or so of wasted time (Damn woman, I didn't even want a beer) By the time we got back and parked it was about 5 - 5:30. I rushed her over to the Crossfire area but all that was left was one Prowler and an empty tent. DAMN IIIIT, the main reason I even dove all the way was to check out the others, oh well what you gonna do... Sorry I missed you guys, would have loved to see some faces and check out the rides. I still have a couple hundred dollars in my pocket for some Rotex Golds and other misc stuff I wanted to pick up...sorry TVT you will get my money eventually lol.
The beer run was not a complete waste though. Highlight of the journey had to be sitting in a convenience store parking lot with a Beautiful Purple Cuda on my left and a Yellow and Green on my right...and people were stopping to check out the Crossfire and asking about it lol. My girlfriend came out of the store, got in and said "are you kidding me? Your parked right beside those cars and people are stopping to check yours out." I was as confused as her but the Crossfire love continued all day. I had at least 5 people + groups walk up and check it out in various parking lots around the city and even right outside the fairgrounds. Around Fredericksburg I get about 1 person a week ask what kind of car it is, but never much more than that. Most people that stopped wanted to know all about it as they circled around looking at it from all angles. Being around such lovely cars all day I figured the Crossfire would be somewhat of an ugly duckling but I was very wrong. It had to be the single best day in the Crossfire I have had yet. Six+ hours of driving combined with all the lovely cars and comments... can't beat that with a stick.
Didn't get any pictures of the crossfire/barracuda sandwich but here is a couple shots of the monsters earlier in the day. Father (Yellow) and his son (Purple) They were really nice and talked with me and the girl for a while on the grounds. Totally forget the names but if they want to give away either any time soon they can feel free to drop em off at my place.
Sorry I missed out on the Crossfire fun but I will def be around for a while. After seeing all those cars I don't think I will ever want to get rid of it. I'd like it to be sitting in the 2004 version of the dealership many years from now. Yea it will prob never happen but if I can keep it in half as good of shape as those cars were I will be a very happy man.
