Tree damage and insurance is handled in a weird way in Maryland. If your tree falls on my house or car My insurance company handles/pays the claim. They have to prove negligence to get any money out of the offending person's policy. So you'd have to have a poorly maintained tree or a dead tree not just a branch that fell off for some reason. You might get lucky on this but my gut tells me the insurance company will tell you you have Comp, too bad you have a high deductible, you were the one that picked the deductible not them. Like I said I feel for you, life ain't fair sometimes. Hope is resolved soon.
