Had the same problem on an Ford torus SHO and it was the crankshaft sensor. hope it's easier to replace then the SHO.
My friend hade the same problem on a Buick. He had a water pump leak and it drained down onto the crank sensor.
I sopose if you spray off the engine a lot, the sensor could get wet and fail. The splash shield on the bottom of the Crossfire will help stop splashing from the road, so if you do an oil change make sure to put it back.
