So I was finishing up installing my LET Phenolic spacers and while the cover was off, I had another listen to the noise coming from the top of the engine. Definitely coming from the now "infamous" stock pulley on the front of the supercharger. Has anyone had a stock pulley go bad, as opposed to replacing good original with the Code 3 or LET pulley?
So engine is cold, idling (I am actually checking for air leaks in the air boxes from the spacer install). It appears that when I activate the A/C pump, that puts an additional load on the belt that makes the pulley noise 10 times worse, so I suspect a bad pulley as opposed to a bad SC clutch (or are these one in the same unit)?
I have 40K miles on the car and got an extended warranty. The dealer will only cover putting on a replacement stock pulley if this turns out to be the problem. Need a way for the warranty to pay for the new non-stock pulley.
