That was a great video and the sound is exactly what I am hearing. THANKS! I love this forum and all the great information available.
So, I have a bad SC pulley bearing. Now the next question is how much $$$ to spend to get it fixed.... $35 or $700. Since the bearing ($35) is the major part within any after market pulley, I wonder why an after market replacement pulley is soooooo bloody expensive? If you think of all the engineering that goes into a modern day PC (~$500) and all the finely machined parts in the box, I can't understand why a simple pulley (without the main bearing piece we know cost $35) costs $650. Or why is that a lot of us have shelled out $80-$100 bucks for fifty cents worth of phenolic plastic. My company makes the plastic pellets that is sold to the auto industry and that sells for $1 a pound. Please don't get me wrong. I love well engineered stuff and don't mind paying a reasonable price. But someone please explain why a pulley should cost $700 and a PC $400? I know the first response to this question, so I'll save you the time; "You can't make a PC turn your SC".
