Okay. I followed all the hints, dried everything out. Luckily I had an extra set of mats.

Nothing smells and I feel that I have a bionic nose and cannot tolerate bad smells. Everything is working fine and I am keeping my fingers crossed. Either it had not rained as much as I thought or my actions that morning helped. I put the top up right away and put the heater on high and left the car running for about an hour. That was a tough thing for me to do - I try to be a green as possible for someone who owns a sports car. I bought a reel mower to cut my grass (dumb move- it does not cut the grass very well) so my neighbours were probably thinking I was nuts to leave my car running for that long.
