HID's do not require any resistors or capacitors, BUTT HID's *DO* require an extra box of electronics. The technology is VERY different to incandecant lightbulbs. basically what it bois down to is that you plug the electronics into where your light bulb used to be plugged in to, and then the new HID light bulb is connected to another set of wires coming from this electronic box ( often called 'ballast', even though that is wrong in terms of technology)
But basically it is plug and play.
