Default Re: MB engine covers for $159.00 + shipping

Having asked them the same question today, I know the answer.

The web site is actually a bunch of independent factory authorized dealers marketing together via this web site.

On the opening page, when you click on the brand logo, you are switched to the specific retailer.
ie. Click on Chrysler, you go to the Chrysler dealer, Click on Mercedes, you go to the Mercedes dealer, who is willing to sell his stuff for less. Yes, assuming they have the same cost structure, an oil filter for the Crossfire, is cheaper at the Mercedes dealer. Strange but true... yes, same part.

The lesson here, is shop around before you buy, and when you find the right price, buy a bunch of the consumables, as the price of German parts are on the rise.

BTW, the difference in attitude between the Chrysler contact and the Mercedes contact was amazing. As soon as the MB parts guy had the part #, he said oh, you're going to put this in a Crossfire.. Must have been selling a bunch of these to CF.org members..

Anyway, my conversion to a (visually) non Chrysler product is almost complete. ... And that is sad. Being the son of a career Chrysler engineer, and a long-time Mopar owner and advocate, the attitude of the new Chrysler LLC, and the it's local dealers towards the Crossfire is discusting. In my humble opinion..

I hope that your dealer experiences have been better than mine.
