After reading through this entire thread, I am a little disheartened. I was planning on buying an iPod so I did not have to tote around a bunch of CDs anymore (and to bring my music format into the new millennium). I just (yesterday) got a new mobile phone: LG Chocolate III which solves the iPod issue for me; It has a built-in MP3 player AND an FM modulator. I just played around with it today in my daily driver - a Nissan Murano with the Bose (Clarion) system. The FM modulator works like MAGIC! and the sound quality is very good. Now I can't wait to try it in the Crossfire ... I will post with my results. Wish me luck.
