did you make sure the top of the sping is sitting in the rubber perch pad from your first post? - The spring pad must be oriented a certain way with the end coil of the spring tight in that little pocket.

I really can think of much more? - with the rear of the car jacked up and the wheel off the ground - can you turn or move the spring?

BTW - how much of the spring did you trim?
