Default Re: Crossfire Car Alarm - What to know.

The basic alarm will go off if the car tilts (for stealing tires or to tow it away). How sensitve it is, I do not know. I looked at a used coupe which had a broken rear latch - when I raised the hatch after locking the car the alarm went off loud and clear.

I wouldn't bother with anything that senses noise outside the vehicle. Too many false alarms and eventually people stop paying attention.

If you're concerned, I would suggest...

1 - renting a garage
2 - buy locking lugnuts to protect those nice rims
3 - invest in a gas shutoff valve - if someone tries to drive away they don't get too far before it runs out of fuel

But maybe some on the forum have installed more sophisticated alarm systems, other than the wise guys who will suggest the car battery and a transformer hooked up to the skin of the car, to jolt anything that touches it. That works real well on meter maids and old ladies.
