I drive my coupe in the winter, and the snow melt overflows the rubbermats and gets into the carpet. I put newspaper under the rubber mats and it catches the snowmelt and wicks up the water in the carpet. The first time I saw water in the footwell of my baby I almost had a heart attack. LOL.
One of the best ways I found to deal with snow in the winter was to go to the dollar store and buy half a dozen of the biggest terry cloth towels you can find and stick em all down in the floor area. Sucks up all the moisture and you just throw em in the washer. End of winter, put em in the closet for next year...
