Our piece is a 2 piece design that movew the filter completely out of the way of the engine compartment . The heat soak on the pipe is minimal when compared to the stock air box.
If you are really driving your car hard then the Needswings filter placement may be an issue, but to my knowledge nothing has been brought up about that. If it is a daily driven car I don't think you will have an issue.
Our parts are designed to work together and if you are looking to continue to upgrade you should look for products that were tested to work with eachother.
Either one you pick will be a good choice.
