I know that my hood says quite warm for a while after driving, that leads me to believe that there isnt much venilation there. What troubles me about the CAI that are mounted in front of the radiators is that they could become fouled with debris and exposed to the elements. Using this set-up will perform better I believe, but will require closer attention to the filter being kept clean. I would like to know from users of this set-up if they clean the element on a regular basis.
We've tested a set up similar to this with a V8 airbox and lost 0.1 in the quarter vs a stock airbox. Similarly, we gained 0.3 with our CAI set up.
If you are going for the look then by all means do it, but if you are after performance, this is not the way to go.
