Default Re: Can't get my key to turnover

well the locksmith couldn't fix it. so i ended up at the dealer friday. the tumbler part is $230 and the Mechnaical switch assembly is $192. i have to buy both parts because the tumbler is locked up and cannot be removed from the mechanical lock part. and i'm waiting for the part to come in (2-3 days they say) anyway, the dealer did not offer any consideration since the car was out of warrant by 8 months. (dealers bite). they said the might have, if i had bought the car to them for repair instead of taking the part out myself. (WTF?) so now i'm not taking this car to Allen Samuels in Clear Lake City ever. i'll write a letter to the chrysler motor people and see where that goes. btw the part comes from mercedes benz... so chrysler must buy it from mercedes or something... maybe that is why it costs so much. still i don't think it's normal for the ignition switch to fail locked up at 37,000 miles.

i did call mercedes to try and buy the part from them and the idiot i got on the phone said they did not sell parts for the chrysler crossfire.
