The problem is the 1.75" output flanges. Good luck flowing 400hp through them w/o nitrous.

Ill be the first to hack em off and run something larger. If im wrong you can all laugh at me for wasting time and $.

If im right remember it was my idea and i was the first to do it. Yes i feel special...lol
I had wondered about this when I had my Limited.

I sure that AMG had a reason for this.

First, the exhaust set up (beyond the manifolds) is different between the AMG and N/A cars (MB & XF) so AMG had the opportunity to redesign the flanges when they designed AMG exhaust system. (Since they were not just bolting on the N/A exhaust pipes)

Perhaps they did not want to change the manifold design due to costs etc.. I just don't know.

But I think you may loose low-end torque and see gains at the higher RPM level - and I would bet that AMG was not willing to sacrifice what their customers (market) would expect in their $65K coupe or SLK. (dead stop acceleration)

I look forward to seeing your results testing this idea out. Perhaps the gains at the top end will make up for any possible loss on the low end for the 1/4 mile guys.
