You have to drain the heat exchanger circuit seperately. Its only common junction with the engine cooling circuit is at the top.

I pulled the lines off of the heat exchanger pump, which drained a lot of fluid out. The connections on the heat exchanger itself might drain more, but they aren't easy to get to.
