Default Re: Would you throw in for R&D?

I think bore x stroke would be very expensive. I read somewhere that MB uses these silicon steel epoxy/alloys for the sleeves to reduce piston-wall friction. I am aware of the 3.8L kit that Startech has, but then again, how much is that car. It would be nice to find another outlet for cams though, and not just them, but cam followers (I know this motor doesn't have rocker arms) to make that rocker arm ration a little higher to allow intake & exhaust valves open further longer. Just need more of a valve relief grinded into the pistons.
Now that I'm in my Hot Rod class, we're blueprinting a SBC, bext Hot Rod class we take that motor and put it into a T-Bucket and put it on the dyno for base runs, then throw power adders onto it.We had an assignment to frin stock cam duration/lift on our own cars and find someone to make a performance cam for our cars. I recently approached Crane, Comp, and Lunati for custom grinds but they don't support Mercedes Benz cams. Oh well...
