I think that air is plenty cool enough, not far from ambient. That air is racing along the inside of the pipes, not allowing much time to pick up heat by convection or conduction of the short runs of pipe only to be injested by the engine. The set-up I tried is the easy way out. Iam sucking nothing put hot air into that engine, a larger volume then stock, but not dense O2 that you get from cooler air.
