It sounds like you are not in recirculate mode and the air moving along the car (higher pressure) is trying to get into the car (lower pressure) through the inlet under the cowl. This is pretty normal in most cars I have driven, I wouldn't think it is a huge problem. Try turning the recirculate mode on and see if you still get the problem, you shouldn't because the outside inlet will be blocked off.
