Default Re: 2005 SRT6 Roadster Infinity

jeno thanks for the photo, are there any adjustments on the sides, or just the connectors ? Definitely will be some adjustments inside, but better figure out what we have here first. It actually looks like a beefy amp, I'll see if I can find any crossreference to the amp, might be able to do some fun things with it. In my Viper I found the specs for the amp and learned that it was 2ohm stable. IIRC it was only something like 35w/channel, not exactly a powerhouse considering what it was in, but I was able to run 2ohm speakers and double the power and it sounded much better. I'm sure these Infinity amps are 2ohm stable too, almost anything made the past ten years is at least 2phm stable....might be an easy upgrade to some better sound.

Dan thanks for the link to the Xfire audio repair guide. A couple of interesting items in it - I hope theres a capacitor on the tweeters, else the tweaters are running full range.

It's interesting that the amp is shown connecting to the body control module and the antilock brake controller. If you lay on the brakes does the stereo pause or mute ? I wouldn't be suprised if it had a
built-in volume adjustment for road noise on the roadsters, my Viper has that. I don't see a lot of after-market head units that offer that feature.
