jeno in the audio guide Dan posted it shows a connection from the amp to the antilock brake controller. As crossfirefrank has suggested that the roadsters
built-in volume adjustment is controlled from the amp and not the head, perhaps the ABS controller feeds the speed sensor data to the amp to controll the built-in volume adjustment.

I've been searching for some type of specs or other data on this amp, so far nothing. I did find some posts here that others have replaced just the factory amp and said the door speakers sounded great (and were high quality). When I get my SRT I'm going to try some testsusing a couple of old school Orion amps I have in the garage to see iif a better amp will sound better with the factory speakers.
