It does have fairly good grip. But you can slide the car. You can also "throttle steer" which is one of the things that makes this car good for autocrossing. The balance of weight, power and traction more than make up for the lack of rack and pinion steering. It can use a little better traction though. An "R" compound tire should take care of that.
