I don't have an answer for you. I use Meguiars No. 6 or Gold Class and detail spray on one car and Adam's wax and detail spray on the other. I have used the Meguiars detail spray over both cars and never have had dull spots. To the contrary. The car looks even better than just after waxing! Actually, if the wax is not coming off real easy, I use the detail spray to help get it off. Good luck.
