I read an article in an Automotive Magazine many years ago, that said that Fabric covered seats in most cars actually held up better than leather or vinyl.
As for the seat heaters that my car has, I know it's not a matter of "if", but "when" they fail, and I have no plans on having them repaired when it happens.
